December 2009 Renton, Washington – Global Engineering and Construction, LLC (Global) announced that the company has been awarded a $750 million Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) Multiple Award Task Order Contract (MATOC) by the US Army Corps of Engineers, Mobile District for the Renovation, Repair and Minor Construction for DoD Army Medical Facilities and Support Facilities in the U.S. including Alaska, Hawaii and Puerto Rico. This contract is intended to provide quick response to repair/restoration, and minor construction requirements relating to, but not limited to, the architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, security and safety areas of US Army Medical Command (MEDCOM) medical facilities in a cost-effective manner. MEDCOM medical facility repair and minor construction shall conform as applicable to the requirements of the Joint Commission, Management of the Environment of Care Standards and Life Safety Management Standards; the Department of Health and Human Services – Centers for Disease Control and Prevention; the College of American Pathologists; the Center for Health Promotion and Preventive Medicine\ (CHPPM); and the American Association Accreditation Laboratory Animal Care. Projects shall also comply with the requirements of the technical criteria compliance with UFC 4-510-01, Design: Medical Military Facilities and applicable NFPA Standards.
